VIOLIN:
Our after school violin program accepts students as young as four depending upon their interest level, focus, and home support. Our program uses a combination of Suzuki and traditional materials and helps our musicians learn the basics of playing while having fun and enjoying music. Emphasis is given to proper form and technique, and playing in small groups.

Students Acting for the Community
|
Our dynamic Performing Arts Program believes in using the arts to serve the community. In the Winter our Empty Bowls Variety Show kicks-off a food drive to benefit the Frederick Food Bank. Students share their talents, and after the show a light soup dinner is held out of respect for those who go to bed hungry every night. The food drive will run through April.
Every Spring a community play is held at the Weinberg Center for the Arts in Frederick, MD. All profits from the performances benefit the Frederick Food Bank. The Friends Parent Organization and the Student Government Association help to promote the food drive. We have also been joined in this effort by Mount St. Mary's College in Thurmont, MD through their "Student Service Learning Program."
In addition, our students have previously performed for nursing homes, adult daycare centers, festivals, and at Baker Park.
