For an added fee Friends Meeting School offers extended care for enrolled students before and after school. Students may be dropped off as early as 7:30 AM and are supervised in a safe environment until their classes begin. Students may remain after school until 6:00 PM and are similarly supervised. The activities students engage in during this time depend on the age of the student. Younger students generally play or help the supervising teacher with minor chores. Older students sometimes play with younger students or work on homework. Some older students prefer to perform community service during this time under staff supervision.
Often classes or clubs are offered after school. Depending on the needs and interests of the students the classes may be about cooking, language, time management, music lessons, or crafts. The classes usually meet for an hour or two after school on a given day of the week. These are independent of the After-School program and are usually taught by a faculty member. Students may sign up for a single class or a series of classes as they are announced. Fees vary depending on the class.
