Upper School
The Upper School program at Friends Meeting School is designed to prepare students for success in college and beyond. Our curriculum is both academically rigorous and socially aware, cultivating the skills and mindset needed to become responsible, thoughtful individuals who seek to “let their lives speak”--make a difference in the world. Our exceptional faculty offers a dynamic and interactive program that expands students' capabilities in mind, body, and spirit.

Independent Studies & Internships
The individualized credit program is designed to further student learning and experience by creating tangible, hands-on learning opportunities that properly fulfills and encourages the diverse set of student interests that makes FMS so unique. Through internships, dual enrollment and independent studies, 11th and 12th grade students are able to engage in both academic and professional learning. Some students may feel drawn to begin building their professional experience by engaging in a hands-on internship with an off-campus business. Other students may want to dive into higher education by dual enrolling at a college or begin exploring a topic of interest by working with a FMS faculty member to create a unique academic experience.
International Service Trip
Each year our Upper School students have the opportunity to go on the international service trip to Spanish speaking countries. So far our student have been to Puerto Rico, Costa Rica and Peru! This year we will be going to the Domincan Republic. This is an amazing partnership that has allowed our students to immerse themselves in culture while practicing Quaker values through community and stewardship.

Direct Admissions Partnerships

At Friends Meeting School, we’re making the transition from high school to college more accessible through direct admission partnerships with colleges and universities.
Direct admission allows eligible FMS students to receive an offer of admission by meeting established criteria, such as a minimum GPA, without going through the traditional competitive admissions process. These partnerships give students greater confidence in their college plans while opening doors to valuable financial benefits.

We’re also working to finalize agreements with additional institutions and continue to explore new partnerships.
Benefits for FMS Students
Depending on the college and partnership, eligible students may have access to:
- Direct or guaranteed admission by meeting established academic criteria
- Merit scholarships ranging from approximately $20,000 to $40,000
- Additional scholarship opportunities for Quaker students
- Reimbursement toward campus visits
- Other benefits that help make the college transition more accessible
Academic eligibility generally begins with a weighted GPA between 3.0 and 3.5, depending on the institution.
